A passionate crocheter joins the TOTs Blankets Challenge

We’re thrilled to welcome Diane Newham from Cranebrook to our TOTS Blanket Challenge community!

Diane discovered our challenge late last year while recovering from a knee replacement. What began as a way to pass the time during her recovery quickly turned into a full-blown mission—she started crocheting complete blankets one after another.

Crafting runs deep in Diane’s family. Her late mum, who passed just over a year ago, was a passionate knitter and crocheter, as was her aunt. Although they are no longer with her, Diane continues their shared love for yarn and creativity in a truly meaningful way.

Despite working full-time, Diane spends her evenings crocheting while watching her favourite TV shows (and let’s be honest—many of us can relate to that perfect combo!).

Today, Diane visited us and delivered sixteen beautifully completed blankets—including one lovingly made by her mum. She’s now officially joined our TOTS community via Facebook and has registered as a volunteer for the 2025 Challenge.

We’re so grateful for Diane’s generosity and talent, and we’re beyond excited to have her on board. Welcome, Diane!
