Watercolour painting is the process of painting with pigments that are mixed with water. It’s use of thin washes and transparent colour gives watercolour work an inherent delicacy and subtlety that artists love. The fluidity of the medium can be tricky to master at first but once you understand how to balance control and freedom into your work the results can be breathtaking.

Come and join us as we explore a little of nature and learn about the watercolour process. This is a beautiful mindful class, and perfectly suited to wind your week down as you head into the weekend.

About the facilitator:

Sharon Flynn - Hawkesbury Home Beautiful

Painting, exploring and creating have always been a central part of my life.  I have previously been able to bring my passion for colour and artistic talent together in a highly successful award-winning homewares store and art studio for many years and since then I trained as an interior designer delving further into the journey coordinating texture, colour and style with architecture. My inspiration comes from recalling the beautiful flowers in my grandmother’s garden and creating them on canvas. There is nothing more exciting than creating the dramatic impact of a flower, landscape or nature inspired painting on a wall and transforming a room from bland to beautiful. Now more than ever I love to share my gift with my students, matching colours to suit their interiors, personalities and their own self-expression. Having a beautiful inspirational space to live creates confidence and supports wellbeing.
