Introducing a friend to the TOTS challenge

Penny Aspina has been sewing squares for our TOTS challenge for the past 6 years – she’s certainly been in it for the long haul.Penny has  a passion for sewing squares like no other. If only we had kept count of the countless squares she has meticulously sewn together, creating beautiful works of art with her needle and thread.

Penny’s dedication to the TOTS challenge goes beyond just sewing squares. About five years ago, she introduced her good friend Jane Hayne to the challenge, and since then, the duo has been an unstoppable force. While Penny prefers sewing “the perfect squares,” she has recently expressed her desire to dive back into the world of crocheting. We can’t wait to see the stunning creations she will come up with using her crochet hooks.

On the other hand, Jane has found her true calling in knitting entire blankets. Her knitted masterpieces are nothing short of breathtaking. With every stitch, Jane weaves a story of warmth and comfort, creating blankets that are as visually appealing as they are cozy. The dedication and love she puts into each blanket are evident in the final results.

To Penny and Jane, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the time and effort you both have dedicated to the TOTS challenge.  The blankets you create bring joy and comfort to those in need, and your contributions make a significant impact in our community.

If you’re inspired by Penny and Jane’s story and want to be a part of the TOTS Blanket Challenge, we encourage you to join us. Together, let’s think outside the square and create blankets that will bring warmth, comfort, and a touch of creativity to those who need it most.
