Run annually from 1 April to 31 July, the TOTS Blanket Challenge invites volunteers from all over Australia to knit or crochet 20x20cm squares, which are then sewn into full-sized blankets and donated to people in need through local charity partners.
Whether you’re a solo stitcher or part of a school, craft group, or social club, everyone is welcome to contribute. And if you can’t knit? No worries – sorting squares, sewing, and spreading the word are just as important.

As the event host venue, The Creative Fringe proudly opens our doors for TOTS’ free community Sewing Bees – monthly meetups where volunteers join forces to stitch, sort, and share stories. Whether you’re a regular or a complete beginner, these sessions are full of heart, creativity and endless cups of tea.
